Beatrice Gentry (maiden name Thal) was born in 1981 in Trier, Germany, where she grew up and found her passion for fine arts. At only the age of 11, she was able to attend art classes at the university of Trier. In 2001 she graduated from Fashion School in Stuttgart, Germany and hosted a few art and photography exhibitions. In her early adult life, Beatrice worked for a fashion studio in Paris as a textile designer as well as for the brand Betty Barclay in Heidelberg, Germany.
Painting, drawing and illustrating always stayed her passion. Having two biracial and bilingual children with her husband Travis Gentry, inspired the author to create her character Piep.
The story of Piep (half pig, half sheep) talks about diversity, tolerance, and acceptance. At present, the story is published in both of her children's native languages: English and German (Piep, das Schwaf).
Piep is the first published book by the author, who currently is working on her next children's book.
